Excited to see that you will be recording Sigur Ros.

While at the Devo show, will you be recording the Tom Tome Club as well?

  2. May 12, 2008 at 4:47 pm

Possible. I have to shoot them off an email.
And then I have to have enough disc space.

I second the excitement regarding taping Sigur Ros; greatly looking forward to that one.

asking for donations is what just got db.etree.org into trouble

  5. May 14, 2008 at 10:21 pm

etree gets unlimited free servers and bandwidth from ibiblio and archive.org. I pay for mine.

The fact that someone demanded donations at db.etree basically to continue to work on the site is very much different from my request to try to offset some of my operating costs.

This site bleeds money. Its really not too much to ask that someone drop $20 in the tip jar every once is a while. Believe me, its a pretty rare event these days. Total donations received through 5 months this year thus far is $65.

It cost me ten times that amount to produce my anniversary concert, which was almost completely ignored by readers of this site.

i wasn’t passing judgement. I was just saying it got them into trouble.

i’m sorry i missed the anniversary concert. i would have liked to make it.

very excited to see you’ll be at sigur ros though. hopefully we can find a copy of the new album before the show to get familiar with some of the newer material.

X has been removed from the list as they respectfully declined permission to record.

I now have a 10 day gap with no shows between Monday the 19th and Thursday the 29th. Any ideas or suggestions to fill that gap are welcome.

I hope you’ll choice The Breeders over Death Cab for Cutie. There’s a lot of Death Cab live recordings out there, but not many for The Breeders. I think their new album is excellent and I would love to hear the new songs in a live setting as I think they would translate quite well.

I’m going to add a new update tomorrow for a bunch of new shows, and some changes to the schedule. Sorry but the June 10 decision was made for me, as a generous reader mailed me a ticket to Death Cab earlier this week.

Bumpershine posted that Devo tickets are now (for how long?) Buy-1-Get-1-Free

I’m still not going though. Hopefully you will tape the Tom Tom Club. Didn’t you tape Sigur Ros on Monday night?
