Mark Knopfler in Central Park – A nyctaper Rainout

July 23, 2008
By

In March, when guitar virtuoso and former Dire Straits frontman Mark Knopfler was announced for a July 23 Central Park gig, we bought a ticket forthwith for the full ticketmaster price. Sadly, the forecast (see above) for this early evening event has become worse as this week has progressed. Essentially, early tonight the skies are going to open and the massive rains will prevent a nyctaper recording of this show despite Knopfler’s permissive taping policy. Apologies to the readers who have been anxiously awaiting this one.

Great news. Another braver-than-me taper recorded this Knopfler show. It should be available soon, and we’re making arrangements to host it here.

there are though, more then just recorder.
as far as i am aware off there are at least three other tapers who were taping last night.
    still, such a pitty.
