White Stripes July 24, 2007 NYC – lossless download

July 25, 2007
By

Well, its two weeks later, and instead of seeing White Stripes with 1200 people on a remote island in Canada, its back to the big city, the world’s most famous arena, and 20,000 fans. Again, Jack and Meg were consistently excellent. The performance lasted 30 minutes longer than the July 11 concert, and the band did not seem to be fazed at all by the size of the venue or the raucous crowd.

The NYC recording differs from the Canada recording, but the quality is equally excellent. I was in my favorite recording section of the Garden, Section 7, which placed me in front of the soundboard and in the center. This recording has more stereo presence, but also more of the crowd. It is perhaps a better overall representation of the experience of this outstanding concert.

This recording is no longer available due to Mr. White’s new strict anti-taping and anti-sharing policy.

I was in that GA front row section. I’m flabbergasted. It’s easily in my top 5 shows in my whole entire life. Ok. See ya Saturday.

    Did you tape Porter Wagoner?

  14. July 25, 2007 at 1:35 pm

    Unfortunately, no.
So, I find out about a week ago that my brother-in-law has decided to treat my wife to a “wine cruise” on this very night. I didn’t get out of the apartment in time to be able to even SEE Porter Wagoner.

Hello, for some reason the file is not opening on my computer. What program do I need to open a flac file? I only have Itunes, Quicktime, and Realplayer and none of those are working.

I was like 3rd row GA. It was awesome considering they played mostly old stuff and dressed old school not the I wish I was bob dylan look from GBMS. I ended up getting backstage passes from a guy after the show 2 for 50 bucks. I finally met Jack and Meg. I was speechless

As French, we usually live in … France but ended a recent vacation trip in NYC to attend this show.

My son and I were were blown away by the performance offered by the band.

It was much longer than the (good) one we saw in Paris last month and the magic of the arena worked on us as well.

Thank you for this gift coming just hours after our return home.

    Cheers.
    Patrick

Having trouble with file 4 (Yorba) – playback cuts off after about 10 seconds. I am on a Mac using VLC. Anyone else have this trouble? I’ve downloaded it several times.

OK I thought perhaps your download broke (the file should be 13551 kB large) that’s why I suggested redownload; the file on this site is still good, I re-downloaded and it plays OK (I use Winamp on Win XP). I still reuploaded for you but it probably won’t help

    – perhaps you should try converting FLAC to wav and then reencoding it, oe try another software for playing?

NYCtaper, thank you SO very much, i went to this concert, it was at great expense to travel up to the City and get nosebleed tickets for me, i splurged and bought some T-shirts and was SO dismayed that they didnt have live recordings afterward (‘ve seen a few acts that actually burn 100’s of CD’s as the show is going on and sell them afterward) anyway its so wonderful to have this recording, thanks again!

Hey there NYCTaper! New to your site and have been a raging fan of the White Stripes for 10 years. I can’t seem to download your recording though? Says file/web page does not exist? Is this true or am I totally retarded (i’m usually pretty up on these things). Anyway, thx for all you do. I’d love to hear some…
