While Camper Van Beethoven has not performed in NYC in almost two years, David Lowery‘s other great band Cracker returns to New York to perform at Webster Hall next week. As the rest of the Camper family prepares for the 25th Anniversary celebration at Campout 2008 in September, the Cracker crew will do a few dates, including an August 20 date at Webster Hall. This night also features Soul Asylum, Everclear and Kevin Kinney — Cracker will be on second.
Cracker also announced today that they have signed with the Savoy Label Group/ 429 Records and will release a new album in the Spring of 2009.
Ólöf Arnalds to play at Le Poisson Rouge, Sept 9, 2008.
Too bad that’s the same night as The Ex at Lincoln Center.
Heard a recording of Everclear from a fair last week (that was posted on Dime) and they sounded absolutely awful. I mean like a band that had no interest in being on stage and doing five covers. Love Cracker but don’t think I want to spend 35 bucks to see them do a half hour set.
Everclear’s first couple of albums were pretty good. The started to go bad about a decade ago, so I lost interest, and haven’t heard their past few albums.
Cracker were always great, so were Soul Asylum. I would go, but The Ex and Extra Golden have my attention that night.
