At Antietam’s Brooklyn Public Library performance this afternoon, Ira Kaplan from Yo La Tengo sat in for the entire set on keyboards.
Due to the torrential rain, the performance originally scheduled for the steps of the library was moved indoor to the auditorium. Unfortunately, we were unable to attend, but according to the Antietam MySpace blog, there is video of the performance. Joly?
I didn’t notice a video camera, but I did record the Antietam set, on my iPod with a Griffin iTalk mic. (I would describe the sound quality as “surprisingly good, considering.”) If anyone wants to hear it, I’m happy to share it here, or elsewhere.
Incidentally, Georgia Hubley was present as well, in the audience one row back of me. Her only appearance onstage was when she ran up to turn the page of the sketchpad on which Antietam had written song titles (and their corresponding Dewey Decimal System category numbers) when the band was otherwise occupied during a song segue.
I would say a fun time was had by all. Definitely the best rock venue I’ve ever been to in a public library.
I guess we’d have to ask Tara what video she wrote about. It wasn’t Joly from punkcast then, since you would have noticed him.
I would be happy to work on your recording and post a link here. Email me.
